Nancy (Tyler) Bleakney (1927-1999) was born in Letchworth, England. By 1948, her family lived in Montreal. She received a B.A. from Acadia in 1950 and a MSc in Botany from McGill in 1952. She married Sherman Bleakney in 1952.
