Exterior view from the street. Two-and-a-half-storey wooden structure with attic and basement and one entrance. Thirteen women and girls standing outside and at least four women in windows. Property is fenced. Pile of stones or bricks in the street. Two other buildings partially visible. The first Seminary building was located in the former Chase School on Main Street, Wolfville, in 1861 under the leadership of Alice T. Shaw. Written on reverse: "First Acadia Seminary building. First Principal Alice T. Shaw". Accompanying note: "Grand Pre Seminary Wolfville 2 copies One slightly larger showing part of another building." On reverse of one copy in ink: "Grand Pre Seminary Wolfville" and "Annie L. Dehap Granville Ferry March 1912".
