Large group of men and a few women, sitting and standing in this posed print. Ruins of (First) College Hall, a thicket of trees, and a flag pole in the background. Camera is facing north. Written in ink on matte: "Meeting of Governors, Professors, students + friends the morning after Old Acadia was burned. They were gathered directly in front of where the old building stood the trees behind them intervening. The Professors (6) are on the front to the left." Another copy of this image includes a note written in ink on the matte: "June 1878". Written on reverse in ink: "W. Chase No. 167 Hollis St. Halifax".
