Description
Kings County Militia roll (1863-1865, 1867) for the 1st Battalion Kings County and contains a list of names, ages, and other notations. Their captain was John S. Belcher. Most of the Kings County men were from Scott's Bay, NS. Included were individual member's ranks, names, ages, and remarks but, later entries include such fields as residence and occupation. The soldiers were listed in the rolls by way of the order of precedence of their rank; Captain, 1st Lieutenant, 2nd Lieutenant, Clerk, Sergeant, Corporal and then Private.
