John Wiswall

Rev. John Wiswall was a Church of England clergyman, born in Boston in 1731 and died in 1821 at Wilmot, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia. This digital collection consists of his journal, dated between 1771 and 1821, that is divided into two sections. In the journal, Wiswall outlines the losses he suffered because of his loyalty to the Crown; he writes about the construction of church buildings, the clearing and planting of Glebe land, and the help received from his parishioners in Cornwallis, Horton, Aylesford and Wilmot, NS; and, he provides genealogical information about his family.
